1. Who we are

Experts.ca is a Canadian business directory operated from Montreal, Quebec. We connect Canadians with verified local service providers across the country.

2. What information we collect

• Inquiries you submit. When you submit a business application or request, we collect the contact name, email address, phone number, business name, location, and your message.
• Account data (when applicable). If you create an admin account, we receive your name and email from our authentication provider (Clerk).
• Usage data. Standard server logs and aggregated analytics (Vercel Analytics, Speed Insights). No third-party advertising trackers.

3. How we use it

• To respond to your inquiry and connect you with relevant businesses.
• To verify and moderate listings displayed on the directory.
• To improve site performance, search relevance, and content quality.

4. How we protect it

Personal contact fields (email, phone) submitted via inquiry forms are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. Production traffic is served over TLS. Access to administrative tools requires authenticated MFA.

5. PIPEDA and your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Requests can be sent to privacy@experts.ca.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of essential and analytics cookies. We do not sell or share personal information with advertising networks. See our Cookie Policy for details.

7. Changes

When we materially change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page and, where appropriate, notify users via email or an on-site notice.
